Brief History of the Gazelle Netball Team

The Gazelle Netball Team began as a simple idea shared among a group of dedicated mothers and women who wanted a space to unwind, stay active, and build friendships through the sport they loved. There was no pressure, no expectations, and certainly no grand ambitions of trophies or titles. The goal was pure: to play netball for fun, to strengthen our well-being, and to enjoy each other’s company both on and off the court.

From those humble beginnings, the Gazelles quickly grew into something much more meaningful. What started as casual afternoon games evolved into a strong, supportive sisterhood a team bound by shared laughter, small victories, and the joy of showing up for each other. Last year marked our first official season, and even then, our spirit stood out: lighthearted, determined, and united.

This year, we carried that same spirit proudly into the season. None of us expected the incredible journey ahead. Week after week, through rain, shine, early mornings, and late practices, we became stronger—not just in skill but in connection. To our own surprise and deepest pride, our little dream team rose all the way to the Grand Final. For a team built on fun and friendship, reaching such a milestone was something truly special.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Able Computing for sponsoring our team shirts. Their support not only gave us a fresh, professional look but also boosted our confidence. Wearing the same colours reminded us that we were moving as one-one team, one goal, one family.

Although we finished the season as runner-ups, our belief in the Gazelles remains unwavering. We may not always win on the scoreboard, but we always win in spirit. Every game is filled with heart, laughter, teamwork, and the kind of unity that cannot be measured by points alone.

This team is more than players on a court—it’s friendships built through shared effort, challenges, celebrations, and lessons learned together.

Gazelle: More than a team—family on the court.
