In todays living standard, most of us will have requirements for a computer to aide in the daily delivery of a more organised work, school or business output. Some may opt for the common desktop PC but most will prefer the more practical mobile PC or laptop. Apart from buying new technologies like smartphones, TVs and other IT products, laptops seem to top the list for work, school and business purposes.
With us here at Able Home & Office, it is important to consider the following factors prior to buying a laptop. Read along!
1. What purpose are you buying a laptop for?
If you are buying laptops for gaming, you should buy laptops with a higher processor, more storage capacity, bigger memory and higher video and audio cards. If you want to get a laptop for office work, online classes, or just for internet browsing, you can settle for laptops with lower specs on storage, memory and other specifications. Serious laptop users are suggested to go for the high end specs especially if you are doing works for 3D drafting and designs.
2. What is your budget?
You should look at buying a laptop according to your budget. At Able Home & Office, we have a variety of laptops to choose from according to your budget which range from PGK 1,685.00 to 6,480.00 across various brands.
3. Ease of carriage
Nowadays everyone wants to buy a laptop that is lightweight, slim, smooth and good looking. If you have to travel frequently with your laptop, you should buy a laptop that are compact or the size that you are willing to carry around. The compact sizes are about 14 inches display or smaller. Larger laptops are heavier so size and weight do matter to someone who is always on the move.
4. Connectivity port
There are a lot of laptops which are getting very few connectivity ports. In such a situation, it is very important for you to take care of these ports. You should buy a laptop that has at least two Type-A USB ports, a Type-C port, a headphone jack, a LAN port, a micro SD card reader, and an HDMI port.
5. The processor
The CPU is the core of a laptop that defines the speed of processing any task. So, if you want to multitask on your laptop, then you should buy one which has a powerful processor. If you are buying a laptop this year 2021, you should at least buy a laptop with a 10th generation processor of Intel i3. Laptops with a less powerful processors like Intel Celeron or AMD are still available and are the cheapest ones in the market but if budget is able to go for at least an Intel i3 then go for it. Engineers and Architects usually go for the higher end processors like Intel i5 or i7 due to the demand of the applications and software they use for their drafting and designs.
6. Build quality and display
You are probably staring at your laptop screen hours at a time so you probably want to make sure that doing so is as painless as possible. For this, you will need a screen that is comfortable to watch and is natural to use like those that have non-reflective screens. If you are a true gamer or someone who watches Netflix a lot then you should buy a laptop that comes with HD and full HD video support. To some individuals especially those that are in the mining, construction and open-field work, durability is quite a requirement. Go for brands that are known their durability.
