National pride reached an all-time high across all 9 Able Home & Office branches nationwide as team members united to commemorate Papua New Guinea’s 51st Independence Day. Taking center stage in this year’s nationwide celebration, Able Computing Alotau claimed the top spot in the 2026 Able 51st Independence Day Showroom Decoration Competition with a spectacular cultural showcase!
A Showcase of Culture and Pride
Able Alotau transformed its retail space into a tribute to PNG’s rich heritage. The branch blended traditional elements with modern technology to reflect unity and national pride.
-
Authentic Decor: The team constructed a traditional thatched-roof structure inside the showroom, complemented by fresh palm leaves, banana trees, native foliage, clusters of betel nuts, and woven bilum bags.
-
Artisanal Wood Carvings: Intricately carved wooden fish and local artifacts were featured along the display counters alongside promotional banners for the 51st Independence Sale.
-
Traditional Bilas & Face Painting: Staff members wore traditional attire (bilas), grass skirts, shell headpieces, and woven adornments, complete with face paint displaying tribal patterns and the red, black, and gold colors of the PNG flag.
-
Team Spirit & Community Engagement: From face-painting sessions for customers and children to joyous traditional dances inside the aisles, the celebration welcomed everyone entering the store.
Celebrating Unity Across 9 Branches
While Alotau took home the winning title, all 9 Able branches across the country showcased incredible creativity, dedication, and unity. The competition served as a powerful reminder of Papua New Guinea’s rich heritage—celebrating 51 years of freedom, culture, and progress together.
Congratulations to the Able Alotau Team for their extraordinary effort and well-deserved victory! Happy 51st Independence Day, Papua New Guinea!
