Windows 7 End of Support

What is Windows 7 End of Life?

After January 2020, laptops and workstations will no longer receive Windows 7 security updates or support. It’s important that users must now upgrade to a newer Windows operating system to avoid being at risk to security breaches.

End of life support for W7 means technical assistance and software updates from Windows Updates that help protect your PC will no longer be available.

By upgrading to a new OS, your business’s cyber security will be aligned with a more robust and secure system and will be continually updated by Microsoft.

As a standard, Windows 10 provides encryption on all machines, meaning your machines will be further secured against security risks.

What do I need to do?

If your company has machines running on Windows 7, they are likely to be over 3 years old. We suggest that you invest in a Windows 10 machine that is better equipped to deal with the cyber-security concerns of today.

It may be that your machines are all up to date, but then again it is always recommended for users to speak with their technology provider for more information and other options.
