File Sharing Lock Count Exceeded Error

 

Have you encountered this error while using Able Payroll software?

This error occurs if the number of locks required to perform a transaction exceeds the maximum number of locks per file.

 

Here’s the workaround:

1. Go to payroll installation folder and find the DBupgrade.exe.

2. Run the DBupgrade.exe and click on update button then close when update is done.

3. Click Start Menu, and then click Run type regedit and run the registry editor.

 

4.Locate the following registry key depending on your Access installation:

Windows Installer (MSI) installation

For 32-bit version of Access running on 32-bit version of Windows, or 64-bit version of Access running on 64-bit version of Windows

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

For 32-bit version of Access running on 64-bit version of Windows

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

Click-to-Run installation

For 32-bit version of Access running on 32-bit version of Windows, or 64-bit version of Access running on 64-bit version of Windows

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

For 32-bit version of Access running on 64-bit version of Windows

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

5. In the right pane of Registry Editor, Select MaxLocksPerFile and double-click.

6. Edit DWORD Value dialog box appears, select Decimal.

7. Modify the value of the Value data box to 1500, and then select OK.

8. Restart your PC and run the Able Payroll Software.
