RAID 1 .Also known as disk mirroring, this configuration consists of at least two drives that duplicate the storage of data. There is no striping. Read performance is improved since either disk can be read at the same time. Write performance is the same as for single disk storage and the RAID array will continues to operate if one drive is working it is slower compare to the other raid configuration due to it will operate done twice at the same time.

When it comes of recovery mirroring is much advantageous because immediately you can able to retrieved all data’s and application exactly installed in your hard drives. If the primary hdd array is faulty/damaged the secondary hdd mirror is able to become operational because all software particularly Operating System are replicated to the mirror to used as applications.
